Crisp photos, precise details and virtual house tours are a few ways that realtors make listings stand out. Dawson Creek real estate agent Nyla LePine takes her listings one step further. She acquired her drone pilot’s license in 2018, so she could give clients a bird’s eye view of the rural properties for sale in the Peace Country – allowing her to impart the maximum amount of detailed information in order to help clients decide on the perfect property to match their needs and desires.

Things like water sources, wind protection from tree stands and outbuildings all take on extra importance when considering the purchase of rural property in Dawson Creek. Nyla put her drone pilot’s license to use as another tool to show the size and scale of ranches, farms and other rural properties that are for sale. An aerial view allows potential buyers to see homes/properties while also witnessing the beauty of the Peace Region unfold alongside the more practical components of how properties fit into the landscape beyond.

In order to acquire her license, Nyla completed Ag Drone Ground School prior to passing the required Transport Canada exam. The ag drone training focuses on the uses of drone technology for agriculture and related industries (such as rural real estate) as well as covering all of the legislative requirements from Transport Canada. Any operator of an RPAS over 250 grams is required to be certified prior to operating a drone. They must also register their RPAS with Transport Canada. Ag Drone School covers all material necessary to complete Basic certification. Those interested in Advanced certification can complete additional training and are required to pass a flight review in addition to the online exam.
